The environmental protections that took decades to build—the safeguards ensuring your children breathe clean air, drink safe water, and inherit livable landscapes—are being dismantled at unprecedented speed.

Under President Trump's current administration, a systematic rollback of climate and environmental regulations is stripping away protections that millions of Americans depend on daily.

The Air We Breathe Is Under Assault

Trump’s EPA, once tasked with protecting public health, is now actively working to dismantle Biden-era rules on power plant emissions and vehicle standards.

Most alarming is the proposed rescinding of the "endangerment finding"—the scientific foundation that gives the federal government authority to regulate climate-linked pollutants under the Clean Air Act.

Without this finding, the government's ability to protect Americans from harmful emissions could vanish entirely.

Adding insult to injury, the administration's "10 rules for 1 new rule" mandate forces agencies to eliminate multiple environmental protections whenever implementing any new regulation.

This isn't reform—it's a systematic weakening of safeguards that keep polluters in check.

Fossil Fuels Over Future Generations

Federal lands and waters, including fragile Arctic ecosystems, are being opened to aggressive oil and gas development.

The administration has ended pauses on new liquefied natural gas export projects and fast-tracked pipeline permits under a declared "energy emergency" that conveniently sidesteps climate considerations.

Even more concerning, new fossil fuel projects are being approved with explicit instructions to dodge Clean Water Act and Endangered Species Act requirements.

The very laws designed to protect our natural heritage are being treated as obstacles rather than safeguards.

Your Water Is No Longer Protected

The definition of "waters of the United States" has been drastically narrowed, removing federal protections from countless streams and wetlands.

These aren't just pretty landscapes—they're natural filters that keep drinking water sources clean and provide critical habitats for wildlife.

Simultaneously, rules on industrial and agricultural runoff have been weakened, allowing more pollutants to flow into rivers and coastal waters.

The water you drink, the streams where your children play, and the coastal areas you visit are increasingly vulnerable to contamination.

Renewable Energy: Stalled and Sabotaged

While other nations race toward clean energy, America is being held back.

Biden-era initiatives supporting solar, wind, and storage manufacturing have been revoked.

Federal climate science funding and clean technology grants have been slashed under the guise of "eliminating green bureaucracy."

The administration has even delayed solar and wind projects on federal lands, with officials describing renewable installations as "ugly" or "disgusting."

Meanwhile, tariffs on clean energy components are raising costs and complicating supply chains, making it harder and more expensive for Americans to access affordable renewable power.

The Global Stage: America Steps Back

By Trump withdrawing from the Paris Agreement again, the United States has abandoned its role in global climate leadership.
This isn't just about international relations—it's about losing our seat at the table when world-changing climate policies are decided.

What's Being Lost

Large-scale EPA and Department of Energy staffing cuts are gutting climate science and enforcement teams.

The "30x30" conservation goal—protecting 30% of U.S. lands and waters by 2030—has been shelved.

Endangered species protections are being weakened, and national monuments are opening to logging and mining.

Environmental justice programs that protected vulnerable communities from pollution impacts have been defunded.

The capacity to assess climate risks and enforce environmental laws is disappearing.

The question isn't whether we can afford to protect our environment—it's whether we can afford to lose it.

These aren't abstract policy debates; they're decisions about the air quality in your neighborhood, the safety of your drinking water, and the world your children will inherit.

What took generations to build is being torn down in mere months.

The real cost of inaction isn't measured in regulations—it's measured in lives, health, and futures lost.
