Strong wind events, such as Nor'easter (sometimes also known as bomb cyclones), hurricanes, Santa Ana’s, typhoons and tornados, can all cause large scale damage in both the short and long term.

Even the smallest holes can allow looming destruction to slip in and create devastation to surfaces they would otherwise be protecting.

The best way to defend surfaces against damaging wind uplift is to make sure there are no gaps, holes, openings or unsecured problematic seams.

This can be simply accomplished by turning all those situations into monolithic, continuous seamless surfaces.

Doing this can easily be accomplished with the right industrial coating that has been designed for just that purpose.

That same coating should have excellent strength, adhesion, chemical resistance and long-term sustainability.

Also, an important factor should be that the coating be Green and environmentally advanced with low to no VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds), no ODS (Ozone Depleting Substances), non-toxic, biodegradable and Class A Fire rated.

A fluid applied coating system is best for defending and sealing surfaces to waterproof them and make them weather resistant.

This is due to the fact that it can turn broken surfaces with holes, gaps and problematic seams into a continuous seamless membrane that is fully adhered to the surface it is protecting.

This then prevents damaging winds from getting behind it and underneath to peel away and shear off sections.

The defensive coating that is chosen should also be chemically and UV resistant being able to take great amounts of repeated abuse over the long term.

With the right protective coating, you can defend all exterior surfaces from wind, including roofing, which is the most susceptible surface to wind damage.

Roofing also is the surface that takes the most abuse from the suns destructive UV (Ultra Violet) rays.

In addition, it is the surface that demands the toughest covering to defend against the attack of all harmful effects from severe weather.
