How Women in Green Coatings Pave the Way for UN SDG #5 Gender Equality - Breaking Barriers and Shattering Stereotypes

Blogs Where Nature Meets Science png

Today's blog I'm addressing SDG #5 gender equality which is near and dear to my heart as I've had so many positive female role models and compassionate women influencers in my life that I'm always looking for ways to help bridge the gap.

In today's world, where achieving gender equality stands as one of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, it's vital to recognize that Goal 5, "Gender Equality," isn't just a fundamental human right – it's the cornerstone of a peaceful, prosperous, and sustainable planet.

Now, imagine the surprising intersection of this noble aspiration with the traditionally male-dominated painting industry.

Which I personally never understood being on coating job sites all over the world for over 40 years and I've never been on one that a woman couldn't handle.

Even when there were heavy items or large pieces of equipment to move around, a team approach was always taken, not leaving it to one individual, man or woman.

I've worked with several women on the job sites over the years and never really understood why the whole industry has been disproportionately male dominated.

Especially being around hard-working women that tackle much tougher jobs than just slinging a brush and slapping coatings on a surface.

The coating industry, for generations, has been a puzzling maze of masculinity, but a remarkable transformation is taking place.

In the United States alone, the number of female painters has surged by 1.9% in just one year, marking a remarkable 3.9% increase over the past decade.

This surge is not a mere coincidence; it's the result of a groundbreaking revolution in green coatings.

Meet GEI Global Encasement Incorporated (GEI), a trailblazing force in the world of green coatings.
Their eco-friendly, non-toxic, and biodegradable coatings are nothing short of revolutionary.

But it doesn't stop there; they're also incredibly user-friendly - just open the buckets and apply with simple painting tools such as brushes, rollers or airless sprayers.

Being water based, non-toxic, biodegradable, with zero VOC's making the application process even easier and non-offensive to users and the environments they are applying them in.

These coatings, unlike their conventional counterparts, do more than just protect surfaces; they open doors to employment and job opportunities, particularly for women, in a rapidly expanding worldwide field.

The green coatings market is swiftly growing, and what's most exciting is the multitude of equal opportunity coating jobs opening up worldwide, offering women a once-unthinkable chance to break into a predominantly male-dominated industry.

In an era where we are striving for gender equality, GEI is leading the way, proving that a shift towards sustainable and eco-friendly solutions isn't just about saving the planet but also about creating a more inclusive, diverse, and equitable world.

As we delve into the extraordinary journey of GEI's green coatings and their impact on the coating industry, we uncover an inspiring story of empowerment, opportunity, and hope.

So, let's continue to explore how these groundbreaking coatings are not only transforming the way we paint but also breaking down barriers and shattering stereotypes to contribute significantly to Goal 5: Gender Equality.

Here’s the Highlights:
• Green coatings by GEI Global Encasement Incorporated (GEI) redefine the painting industry.

Tomorrow I'll jump into how GEI, Green Coatings ENCASEMENT work with goal #7: Affordable and Clean Energy

So, keep reading along.

"We need to consider what else we can do to empower women in the workplace, especially in growing industries. The demand for more flexible work hours is a future necessity that can be met by putting women to good use."

“Economic growth can't achieve its full potential if we leave women behind, and we can't move ahead by leaving behind half of our population.”

“We can’t realize our economic goals if half our population is under house arrest.” - Prime Minister Narendra Modi
