U.S.D.A. Forest Service
Los Padres National Forest, CA
Four buildings that form an historical complex in this National Forest were suffering from badly delaminating, alligatored lead-based paint. The historians and architects were interested in preserving the history of the buildings right down to the window sills which had been chewed on by animals. They wanted nothing to be changed or disturbed. Some of the clapboards had to be completely replaced but the majority of the surfaces were left intact. They also did not want to use anything caustic and did not want to have to haul away any hazardous waste.

A Class A Fire Rated, durable, highly flexible, impact and abuse resistant, long-lasting encasement system was chosen. Your Last Coat™ was then applied, custom tinted to the Forest Service’s specifications.
