Metal Roof Coating System
110,000 sf. Hangar Metal Roof
Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan
The Challenge:
Maintenance Personnel at Kadena, the largest air base in the world, were concerned that the Only Option for the Severely Deteriorated Roof of this Hangar Would Be Removal and Replacement of the Roof Itself. GLOBAL Encasement, Inc. Proposed a Second and extremely Cost-Effective Option, Encasement of the Deteriorating Roof with RoofCoat™ for Metal Roof Coating System.
Benefits:
- Class A Fire Rating Metal Roof Coating
- Little to No Surface Preparation
- Waterproof, Durable, Breathable
- Halt Rust and Corrosion
- UL Listed Waterproofing
- Non-Toxic, Low VOC’s
- Cost-Effective
- Long Term Solution
- No Building Down Time
- No Relocation Fees
- Solar Reflective, Huge Energy Savings
Results:
A UL Listed, Class A Fire Rated RoofCoat™ Encasement System was designed for the roof. First the roof was pressure washed and cleaned using PremeClean™. All the rust and corrosion on the roof was halted using R.I.P.™ Rust Inhibiting Primer. Small holes found on the roof were addressed Using GEI Seam Tape. A first coat of RoofCoat™ was applied revealing any cracks in the roof. These cracks were caulked using 100% Acrylic Caulk. Then a Second Coat of RoofCoat™ was applied completing this durable Metal Roof Coating Encasement System.
