CH#310 - Crane Tower Restoration

Crane Tower Restoration

Crane Tower Restoration
Port of San Francisco, California USA

The Challenge:

Some rusty, lead containing historic structures & buildings of this newly converted waterfront park were in bad shape & needed restoration that would preserve their famous maritime characteristics. The Port planned to preserve several relics left behind from the shipyard's past & restore buildings identified as historically significant. One of them the celebrated Crane Tower.

Benefits Desired:

  • GREEN & Environmentally Advanced  Coating Solution
  • Custom Colored
  • Sustainable & Cost-Effective
  • Seal, Waterproof, Protect Surfaces
  • Halt Rust & Prevent Future Corrosion
  • Durable, Withstand Extreme Temperatures
  • 20 Year Warranty, Renewable Solution

Results:

GLOBAL Encasement, Inc.’s (GEI) award-winning coating system was chosen for its ability to halt rust along with providing long-term durability, resistance to wind, salt sea spray & damaging UV rays. GEI’s R.I.P.™ Rust Inhibiting Primer was first applied, inhibiting & halting further rust. Next PrepLESS Primer was applied to lock in place any loose flaking paint chips. Then custom colored LeadLock TopCoat was put on to complete the system protecting the celebrated structures in order to prevent future corrosion from the ongoing attack of sea salt spray & harsh weather.
