Pump Station, Brooklyn, New York
This pumping station was undergoing an upgrade and rehabilitation. The main building, a national and city eligible landmark Beaux-Arts style structure which houses pumping equipment, had approximately 4,000 square feet of structural steel beams covered with rust and peeling, flaking Lead-Based Paint.
The surfaces needed to be sealed to prevent further corrosion and delamination. The solution and the tint color had to be reviewed by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) and New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC).
