CFAO Targets White Beach
Okinawa, Japan

The Challenge:

This building (walls and roofing) were constructed of asbestos containing transite panels.  The main concern was with the lower areas of the building being continually banged into causing breaks and dangerous asbestos fiber release.

Benefits desired:

  • Highly impact and abuse resistant
  • Green, Environmentally Advanced Coatings
  • Complying with Executive Orders
  • Class A Fire Rated
  • Sustainable and Renewable

Results:

After extensive research to find the best solution to prevent the ongoing release of harmful asbestos fibers, GLOBAL Encasement, Inc.'s AsbestoSafe® system was chosen.  This system was installed from the floor, six feet up, where most of the abuse was taking place.  This included first applying PrepLESS Primer , Then bridging holes and cracks with GEI Seam Tape , finishing the system by applying the AsbestoSafe® topcoat at the recommended mil thickness.
