RoofCoatTM reflects more of the sun's rays, and can lower roof surface temperature, decreasing the amount of heat transferred into a building.
RoofCoatTM can help reduce the amount of air conditioning needed to keep a building comfortable, and can reduce peak cooling demand.
RoofCoatTM can help reduce the impact of Urban Heat Islands.
Energy Star qualified RoofCoatTM is a product that meets or exceeds solar reflectance standards, without compromising product quality and performance. During building design and when your existing roof needs replacement are both excellent times to consider reflective roofing.
THE ENERGY STAR® PROGRAM
The EPA ENERGY STAR Roof Products Program is a voluntary program with roofing materials manufacturers to encourage the promotion of energy star products that meet energy efficiency criteria. This initiative seeks to reduce greenhouse gases by implementing strategies that lower power demand and reduce the impact of Urban Heat Islands.
The roofing comparison and energy savings calculators developed by ENERGY STAR™ and the U.S. Department of Energy are great tools to help you determine how a GLOBAL Encasement, Inc. RoofCoat™ Roof Design can be of benefit to you.
The U.S. EPA developed a Roofing Comparison Calculator to help you estimate how much energy and money you can save by installing an ENERGY STAR certified labeled roof product on your building. You can access it at http://www.roofcalc.com/.
Note: When using the ENERGY STAR™and DOE Cool Roof Calculators to determine your RoofCoat™ energy savings, the rated values of a bright white RoofCoat™ are: 83% Solar Reflectance and 69% Infrared Emittance.
When installed properly, Energy star® Qualified RoofCoat™ will help reduce energy costs. Actual savings will vary based on geographic location and individual building characteristics. Consult your product manufacturer, roofing contractor, or call
DOE COOL ROOF CALCULATOR
Estimates Energy and Peak Demand Savings for Flat Roofs with Non-Black Surfaces

The U.S. Department of Energy's Oak Ridge National Laboratory developed version 2.0 of the U.S. EPA calculator for large facilities that purchase electricity with a demand charge based on peak monthly load. You can access it at: http://www.ornl.gov/sci/roofs%2Bwalls/facts/CoolCalcPeak.htm
If you have a small or medium-sized facility that purchases electricity without a demand charge, run the CoolCalcEnergy version to estimate the savings in energy charges from using solar radiation control.
