126 - The Lincoln Tunnel
|
The Challenge: The Lincoln Tunnel’s Personnel Passageways and Inner Work Areas Contained Lead-Based Paint (LBP). The Port Authority of NY/NJ Originally Wanted to Use a Product that would Require Sand Blasting in its Initial Preparation Phase. The Contracting Foreman Threatened to Walk Off the Job rather than Sand Blast the Hazardous Material. |

Results: GLOBAL Encasement’s Award Winning Systems Gave the Port Authority the Option to Manage the LBP In-place. PrepLESS Primer™ was Applied to the LBP, Re-attaching Loose and Flaking Paint to the Substrate. This Process Generated No Hazardous Waste. LeadLock™ TopCoatwas then Added, Giving the System a Durable Finish that Will Last in Excess of Twenty Years. This is a Perfect Example of one of GLOBAL Encasement’s simple, secure solutions for the hazards of Lead-Based Paint.
