The Challenge: The exterior Transite surfaces of the steam plant at this prison facility, owned by the State of California, contained Lead-Based Paint that was peeling, flaking, cracking and chalking. Results: A 20-Year Warranted, Class A Fire-Rated GLOBAL Encasement System was designed that answered their needs. PrepLESS Primer™ bridged the cracks and reattached the loose and flaking Lead-Based Paint to the Transite without disturbing the surfaces. The strong, durable and flexible AsbestoSafe® TopCoat, custom tinted to match the other buildings, completed the system. Cost savings was also realized because the AsbestoSafe® System is so easy to use that their certified paint staff was able to apply it.
