Product Description

MPE Multi-Purpose Encapsulant™ is a clear, acrylic, water-based, non-toxic, low VOC (2 g/l), primer and conditioner for fibrous, porous, Asbestos-Containing Materials (ACM) and for surfaces that can be only marginally cleaned or are difficult to adhere to.

MPE Multi-Purpose Encapsulant™ functions as a penetrating and flexible encapsulant and primer where tenacious adhesion is needed to safely lock down fibrous and asbestos containing surfaces. GE-MPE Multi-Purpose Encapsulant™ is designed and engineered to deeply penetrate asbestos-containing materials.

Product Installation

MPE Multi-Purpose Encapsulant™ may be brush, roller or spray-applied.
All surfaces must be clean, dry, and free of dirt, grease, oil, or other contaminants that would interfere with proper adhesion.
Apply at temperatures above 50ºF.
Apply only when weather conditions will permit drying before rain, dew or freezing temperatures.
Cool temperatures and high humidity retard cure.
MPE Multi-Purpose Encapsulant™ should be applied and allowed to dry thoroughly before applying topcoats. In no case should topcoats be applied until GE-MPE Multi-Purpose Encapsulant™ is completely dry. Topcoat with GLOBAL Encasement materials.

COVERAGE: MPE Multi-Purpose Encapsulant™ Coverage rate on a flat surface is 200 s.f. / Gallon and will yield 4 mils Dry Film Thickness.

Spray Application: Use self-cleaning reversible spray tip, Size .015-.019.

Coverage rate may vary depending upon porosity, texture of the surface being encased and mil thickness desired. GE-MPE Multi-Purpose Encapsulant™ is ready to use and should not be diluted for Transite applications.

It can be diluted with water for the following applications:

Pre-Removal Surfactant Dilute 10:1 Amended water for wet-out prior to abatement.

Lockdown Encapsulant Dilute 6:1 for use as a post-removal encapsulant and as a misting agent prior to air monitoring.
